Peculiar Ways to Boost Your Overall Health and Wellness

Everyone knows the basics when it comes to keeping ourselves healthy. Eat the right amounts of healthy food and drinks, stay fit, and sleep more. Schedule regular doctor’s appointments as necessary and avoid bad vices. But did you know that are tons of other ways you can boost your health and wellness aside from the common strategies?

Most people are not able to keep up with a healthy diet, get an ample amount of quality sleep, or stick to a regular exercise routine. But thanks to people’s tendency to be creative, many came up with other ways that can help in improving their health. Get to know some non-traditional but effective ways to do this.

Tooth Modification or Removal

Different dental problems can make your dentist recommend a tooth extraction. For instance, removing your wisdom teeth becomes necessary if they cause you a lot of pain and discomfort. When you leave dental cavities untreated, there may no longer be any other way to salvage the tooth. When your teeth make makes you conscious, it can be a great move to seek help from your dentist to address this issue.

But know that tooth removal or modification does more than ease your pain, improve your appearance and your oral health. When you don’t worry about cavities, crooked teeth, or the pain your wisdom tooth is causing you, you will have more time to take care of yourself. Remember that oral health problems can make you feel anxious and stressed out. The earlier you address these issues, the less stressed you will be and the more time you can spend on improving your health and wellness.

Chili Indulgence

What does red-hot chili peppers have to do with improving your health? As it turns out, peppers can do more than just give your food a nice, spicy kick. It can even offer numerous health benefits, including weight loss, create and maintain collagen, improve ocular health, metabolism and cognitive functions, joint pain relief, reduce inflammation and promote the growth of red blood cells. Chilies are also known to decrease one’s risk of cancer and Type 2 Diabetes.

According to studies, the extracted capsaicin from Capsicum Annuum has the ability to provide pain relief from migraines. Intranasal capsaicin was used with 18 patients. Out of the 18 patients, 13 patients experienced full relief. Only one found no relief while the remaining four experienced some pain relief. The next time you feel like an intense headache is coming or you wish to boost your health and avoid possible health risks, a dash of chili pepper would be worth it.

Tai Chi Walking

Unlike jogging, walking can be a better solution if you are not fond of running. Walking allows you to cover longer distances without putting unnecessary strain on your feet, heart, and lungs. You already spend most of your time walking rather than running, so it is best to make the most of it.

Tai chi walking helps improve balance, movement, and coordination all the while enjoying tranquility and harmony. It enables you to learn how to measure your breath, focus on concentration, and walk with balance using well-coordinated moves. It may seem a bit difficult and awkward at first, but once you get a hold of it, you will soon realize how powerful the slow and gentle movements can boost your fitness in no time.

Dry Brushing

Ever tried brushing your skin when it is dry? It may sound a bit harsh and strange. But in reality, dry brushing offers several health benefits.

For one, you are literally brushing away any dead skin cells, thus promoting a better appearance. It encourages you to take a moment of your time to focus on yourself alone. It also helps improve circulation while draining your lymphatic system. This means you get to manually help your body remove toxins.

But before you start dry brushing, make sure you don’t use just about any brush. If you’re vegan, you can choose a synthetic brush. If not, then a boar bristle brush can be a great choice. You can opt for a brush with a handle for those hard to reach places.

Many prefer dry brushing in the morning as it makes them feel energized. Since you need to go away with your clothes, it would be best to hop in the shower so you can take a bath afterwards. Using just enough pressure, brush from your feet, and up. Master dry brushing movements and hydrate after you shower.

There are lots of other ways you can take better care of your health and boost your wellness. This list reminds us that being healthy and fit does not have to be boring. You can also try new things, explore other experiences, and give yourself a bit more love.
